Cancelling, pausing, or changing your plan: how to start

All three start with a conversation rather than a button. How to reach the right person, why cancelling includes a short offboarding call, and how multiple locations are handled.

Cancelling, pausing, or moving to a different plan all start the same way: a conversation with our team. None of them happen from a button in Stratus, and that's deliberate — there are things we have to disconnect on our side, and we do that with you rather than to you.

How to start

Message support in the chat, or email us, and say what you'd like to do. Include your office name — the chat doesn't tell us which practice you're writing from, and that's usually what slows the first reply down.

You can also book time directly: calendly.com/help-usestratus/stratus. The same scheduling link is on the Help tab inside Stratus.

Support is available Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM Mountain Time. Outside those hours, leave a message in the chat and we'll pick it up the next business day.

What to expect if you're cancelling

Cancelling includes a short call, usually 10 to 15 minutes. It isn't a retention trap. We need to disconnect things live with you — your practice management system integration and your server connection — and that's genuinely easier done together than over email.

On the call we'll also ask why you're leaving. We keep it on file and we do use it: it's how we decide what to fix next. If you'd like written confirmation once everything is closed, just ask and we'll email you one.

If you have more than one location

Locations are handled individually. If you're closing some but not all of them, tell us exactly which ones by name, and ask us to confirm each one back to you when it's done. It's worth being explicit here rather than assuming a change applies across the whole group.

Before you decide: tell us what's wrong

A lot of offices get in touch to cancel when something narrower is the real problem — a plan that's the wrong size, breakdowns coming back with mistakes, turnaround that's too slow, or a form missing something your team needs.

All of those are worth raising before you go. Some we can fix, and some are already fixed. If the issue is that you're not using everything you're paying for, moving to a smaller plan is a conversation we're happy to have instead — see Your plan, your breakdown allotment, and how to change it.

Pausing

There's no pause button in Stratus, and it isn't something you can switch on yourself. If you want to stop for a while rather than leave for good — a slow season, a move, a system changeover — talk to us before you cancel. Tell us roughly how long you expect to be out and we'll go through the options for your account.

Questions about cost

Anything to do with pricing, your bill, or what a change would mean financially is best answered by a person who can see your account. Message support and we'll walk you through it directly.

Coming back later

Plenty of offices leave and come back, and it's an easy thing to do. Message support and we'll get you re-onboarded.

If you don't hear back

Message us again in the chat rather than waiting. Scheduling links occasionally don't come through, and we'd much rather you nudge us than sit wondering.
